Lodging

We selected three types of lodging to accommodate you. If you're looking for lodging (or can offer some) please say so when registering (and please specify which type).

Luxurious hotel

  • Hotel Tulip Inn Keyser ****
    Keizerstraat 5
    4811 HL Breda
    Tel: +31 76 520 51 73
  • Special rate: € 70,- per twin room per night, breakfast included (no city tax here).
  • You can extend you stay with Friday night and / or Sunday night at the same rate.
  • Late arrival possible (do mention this when making the reservation)
  • Located in the city center within walking distance from our venue, the restaurant, the café and the train station.
  • Parking: Chassé-parking next door. Buy your exit-ticket for € 6,80 at the hotel desk. (This fare covers an early Saturday arrival with a late Sunday departure. For parking any longer you'll pay an extra  € 6,80 per 24 hours.)
  • Excellent itinerary for arrival by car or public transport on the hotel website.
  • Michel mediates for those looking for a room-mate
  • Michel gives you the coupon code needed to get the mentioned special rate and can help you make the reservation if you like.

Budget hotel

  • Hotel Premiere Classe Breda ** (sorry on-line info in Dutch only)

    Tel: +31 76 572 00 01
  • € 39,- per tripple room per night (no city tax here)
  • Breakfast in nearby hotel, € 4,50 p.p.
  • On the outskirts of Breda, most likely very hard to reach by public transport.
  • Parking: free
  • Itinerary on-line.
  • Michel mediates for those looking for room-mates and can help you make the reservation if you like.

Staying with a (local) player

  • The cheapest solution?
  • Please keep in mind that these players generally do not live in the center of Breda (often in surrounding towns). Therefore this will take some extra time and may cost you a bus / train ticket.
  • Limited availability but not asked for that much yet either, so I guess it will work out fine.
  • Michel mediates.

Lunch / drinks

The venue will at the least have a soda machine. On Saturday it's easy to go out and buy several types fo refreshments in the area. On Sunday your options will be somewhat more limited.

On site merchants

Labyrinth (our host) sells sleeves and other gaming needs, as well as a large assortment of games (no MeCCG though).

Wim Heemskerk, from Gwaihir.net, will be there with a limited assortment of MeCCG. If you want to make sure he brings what you're looking for you'd best order in advance (of course, you can pay on site and won't be charged any shipping).

And of course we encourage everyone to bring his spare cards to get some major trading going.

Sponsors / prizes

OK, we know prizes are not the first thing on your minds but still they are nice, aren't they? It's also good to see so many people (still) care about MeCCG and we feel they deserve to be mentioned:
  • Artist Rob Alexander donates a beautiful limited edition print of his The Witch King of Angmar (the ringwraith) and signed some four MeCCG cards.
  • Labyrinth Breda places the tournament area at our disposal.
  • CardExchange.com donates a complete display of Dutch boosters
  • Gwaihir.net supplies the cards for sealeds with a large discount and several MeCCG prizes as well.

Event details

Introduction for novices

Saturday 10:30-12:30 (+€ 0,00 or +€ 7,50)
Do you want to learn how to play? Then this event is for you! You will play a casual game which Simone de Ruyter will use to explain the rules to you in detail.  Without a doubt you can play in this afternoons hero sealed after this introduction.
You can bring a (simple) deck you prepared in advance (or just bring a starter), or you can purchase a ready to play deck (a challenge deck) during the introduction. For this deck you'll pay a special price of just € 7,50.

Introductie fallen wizard/ minion

Saturday 10:30-12:30 (+€ 0,00 of +€ 7,50)
You'd like to look beyond the good guys? Then join Michiel 'Lord Leuber' Steegh introduction on the fallen wizard and minion alignements. Without a doubt you're ready to play in this afternoons minion draft after this introduction.
To master the fallen wizard alignment you'd best bring a deck prepared in advance (don't worry about mistakes in it). We'll try to arrange for a deck or two borrow. If your interest goes towards minions you can bring your own deck as well, or you can purchase a pre constructed deck on the spot (a challenge deck).  For this deck you'll pay a special price of just € 7,50.

Introduction on Sunday

Sunday 12:00-14:00 (+€ 0,00 of +€ 7,50)
If you choose to do an introduction on Sunday you will unfortunately not have time to play in a tournament that same day. However, we don't want to leave those that can't come on Saturday in the dark, so Michel Schelfhout is available for an introducton of your choice. N.B.: if both an introduction for novices and one for minion / fallen wizard is requested the latter will be held later this afternoon. On this day too you can play with your own deck or purchase a challenge deck on the spot for just € 7,50.
