[minion resource + hazards; vs all (?)] Twice-BURNED-Cakes

Post by |Highwayman| » Thu Nov 03, 2005 12:05 pm

a crazy idea that originated from a simple covert company burning free-holds and border-holds deck

Starting Characters
Hendolen
Surion
    Open to the Summons
    Eradan
Horseman in the Night
    Blazon of the Eye

Characters in Deck
Uvatha the Ringwraith x2
Adunaphel the Ringwraith
Horseman in the Night
Carambor
Jerrek
Asternak
Tros Hesnef

Resources
High Helm
Sable Shield
Twice-baked Cakes x3
Burning Rick, Cot, and Tree x3
Smoke on the Wind x2
Not Slay Needlessly x3
War-wolf x2
Variags of Khand
Easterlings
Ruse x2
Voices of Malice x2
Orc Quarrels x3
A Nice Place to Hide x2
Bade to Rule x2
By the Ringwraith's Word x2
Twilight x3

Hazards
Doors of Night x3
An Unexpected Outpost x3
The Will of Sauron x2
Minions Stir x3
Buthrakaur the Green
Umagaur the Pale
Doubled Vigilance x2
Siege x3
Orc-warriors x3
Orc-lieutenant x2
Uruk-lieutenant x2
Orc-warband x2
Hobgoblins x3
Orc-raiders x3

Sideboard
Sudden Call
Smoke on the Wind
Palantir of Minas Tirith
War-wolf
Crept Along Cleverly x2
While the Yellow Face Sleeps
Nurniags
Redoubled Force x2
Troll-purse x2
Goblin-faces x2
Orc-guard x2
Orc-watch x2
Unhappy Blows x2
Pierced by Many Wounds x3
Two or Three Tribes Present x2
Heedless Revelry x3
Veils Flung Away x2

stick to Mordor and it's vicinity, make some use of the normally non-usable sites (like Druadan Forest, Henneth Annun) by playing Cakes there and then burning the site down; hazards should work well against all except haven squatters (thanks to orcs keyed to nothing after Umagiar or Buthrakaur minion companies at shadow-holds can get hurt)

MP's
Characters: 6-9
Items: 4-7
Factions: 4-6
Allies: 2-3
Misc: 10-15

ALL: 26-40

PS
the Cakes could be exchanged for some MP cards that tap the holds (Broad-headed Spear or To Satisfy the Questioner for example) but the deck scores major cool points for burning the sites down cuz of the Cakes :P

Actually, I think that's quite possibly the only way I've seen to tap Henneth Annun.  Congratulations. :)

Beside using (discarding) of Necklace of Girion.
There are also other methods of tapping Henneth Annun, which require changing of site type or uncommon combination of hero resources (played by opponent) and hazards in play.

Congratulations for |Highwayman| for discovery of reasonable method.
We will not speak of such things even in the morning of the Shire.

Tempest of Fire?

Fog/Long Winter?

Hmmm....

Can't think of any others.

Tempest of Fire for Balrog only.

Fog/Long Winter?

Yes (+Crown of Flowers and Doors of Night).

Others:

Nature's Revange on Henneth Annun. Regiment of Black Crows and/or Wild Hounds played at site. Then Voices of Malice/Ancient Secrets on Nature's Revange.

Or

Simply Doors of Night + Long Winter + Whithered Lands on Imlad Morgul/Ithilien region.

Or

Gloom on Henneth Annun, then Regiment of Black Crows and/or Wild Hounds, then Skies of Fire or waiting to the next turn.

And more of more complexed variants (all as obove - with little help of opponent)...
