[Fallen Pallando Resource] The Mystic Hills

Post by Zarathustra » Tue Oct 04, 2005 4:50 am

You've seen Saruman's sages squat there.

You've seen the Balrog's bad boys do it too.

Well, now it's time to take a look at the ultimate in metagaming:

Pallando's Mystic Hills.

Ghan-Buri-Ghan / Blazon
Threlin / Horn
Firiel / Thrall

Stave of Pallando

In Deck:

3 Pallando
1 Faramir
1 Beretar
1 Ciryaher
1 Belegorn

1 Pallando's Apprentice
1 Wizard's Myrmidon
1 Pallando's Hood
3 Hidden Haven
1 Great Patron
1 Gatherer of Loyalties
1 Fortress of the Towers
1 A Strident Spawn
1 Guarded Haven
1 Truths of Doom

2 Dark Tryst
2 Voices of Malice
2 Longbottom Leaf
2 Weigh All Things to a Nicety
2 A Friend or Three
2 Hall of Fire

1 The Warg-King
1 Tom Bombadil

1 Keys to the White Towers
1 Palantir of Elostirion

1 Petty Dwarves (minion)
1 Woses of the Eryn Vorn (minion)

Key Sideboard Cards:

3 Half-Orcs
2 Greater Half-Orcs
1 Propher of Doom

1 Deeper Shadow
1 Aiglos
1 Secret Entrance
1 Dwarven Light-Stone
1 Legacy of Smiths

1 Eyes of Mandos
1 Gifts as Given of Old
1 Thrall of the Voice

2 Long Grievous Siege

1 Euog
1 Doeth
1 Ill-Favored Fellow

Play Tips:

Pretty self-explanatory, I think: leave firiel behind: she brings in 5-minders each turn.  The wose and the dwarves go camp out at minion Worthy Hills, turning it into a haven on turn 2.  There, they play the two factions, and put long grievous sieges on them.  Guard the haven for an extra point, and to assure that your opponent cannot play any mp resources there: no info for Saruman, no burn cards for the hog.  Meanwhile, just keep dropping stage cards and characters back at White Towers.  Send Firiel and a follower out for the ally and the item; the dwarves can go too if you get their faction in early enough.  Firiel can also go downstairs for a big 7 MPs from Aiglos and the lightstone (lightstone in case you face Ire).  All in all, a quick, boring deck that is the bane of other Worthy Hills decks.

MP Breakdown:

Character: ~16
Item: 2-9
Ally: 2-4
Faction: 6-11
Misc: 0-8
Total: 26-48
