[Fallen Gandalf Resources] Gondor Influence Tour

Hello guys, this is a deck that I recently made. It revolves around the
G-man and Súrion influencing factions in sites around Gondor.

Súrion and Wormtongue move in the first turn to Isengard. Usually Gandalf pops up in the site that a faction in my hand is playable. Or if I have a character in my hand but no G-man then I play the character in his home site (preferably Minas Tirith).

I play chambers in the royal court as soon as i get it, usually in both Minas Tirith and Edoras (where Wormtongue stays all game).
Súrion and Gandalf for two separate companies wandering on their own influencing factions. Usually Boromir plays the Keys of Orthanc, the Palantir of Minas Tirith and the Men of Anórien.

Using Gandalf's untaping ability, Longbottom leaf and the Weight all things to a nicety I sideboard everything important.

I play forewarned is forearmed as protection against Assasins and Slayers, and if I don't have one in play, I use Ready to his Will to get an additionl ally point. I also use forewarned is forearmed in combination with Ruse to avois those Assasins and Slayers.

Later in the game I play Guarded heaven on Minas Tirith and Edoras (and play No stranger at this time wherever i play a faction), get the sapling at the Glittering Caves, store the sapling, and in thoery play the White Tree, Await the Onset and call.


I have only played Await the Onset once, out of 6 games, but even without it this deck manages to get a lo of MP.
I think I need a hazard portion that does not requiere a lot of cards in my hand, because I need to call the game fast enough, so should I use a grab bag hazard portion maybe ??

Usually Boromir plays the Keys of Orthanc, the Palantir of Minas Tirith and the Men of Anórien.

I may have missed this in the deck list -- how are you untapping Minas Tirith to play three resources there that tap the site?

Using Gandalf's untaping ability, Longbottom leaf and the Weight all things to a nicety I sideboard everything important.

Fallen Gandalf is the King of the Sideboard.

Get the sapling at the Glittering Caves

Most decks on this theme go to Gobel Mirlond so that you don't have to worry about or the Gap of Isen (Cave Worm).

I think I need a hazard portion that does not requiere a lot of cards in my hand, because I need to call the game fast enough.

That's the general rule for most decks.  I would point out that you've got a fair number of resource permanent events in your deck, which speeds up resource play, so your hazard portion can be slower than pure dump & run.

Both the Keys of Orthanc and the Palantir are special items, so they don't tap the site. I play the men of Anórien after playing (and storing ) those two items.

Oh, and since I don't need to use both Trall of the Voice and Open to the Summons, i got room for another minor item, maybe a Blazon of the Eye, I'm worried that it may be a little overkill, but it might come handy in case of Foolish words.

Just out of curiosity, what does Fallen Gandalf do

Do you mean what does he do in general or in this deck ??

In this deck he uses his untaping ability to bring resources from my sideboard and then untap at the end of the organization phase. He then goes around Gondor influencing factions or getting noble hounds or the Sapling of the White Tree.

why is Legacy of Smiths an important sideboard card? Just for the stagepoints?

The additional points of the Keys of Orthanc and the Seed are just a bonus.

Ok. As far as I know the keys of Orthanc count full MPs anyway because it is a stage ressource.
