[Hazards vs Generic] Orc Lieutenants

Post by Bandobras Took » Wed Aug 16, 2006 5:50 am

A rather generic hazard deck that has a hard time against dwarves and elven warrior/rangers. :)

3 x An Unexpected Outpost
3 x Doubled Vigilance
3 x Hobgoblins
3 x Orc-lieutenant
3 x Orc-warriors
3 x Uruk-lieutenant
3 x Minions Stir
3 x Two or Three Tribes Present
3 x Redoubled Force
3 x Doors of Night

Use Two or Three Tribes to play lots of orcs. Put Lieutenants on-guard beneath Doubled Vigilance. vs. Minion, you creatures are keyeable to :R: or can act as some fairly good detainment.

This deck definitely needs Revealed to All Watchers, which is a killer when combined with Two or Three Tribes Present. ("Hold on, I need some more orcs." <draws 6 cards> "There we go...." <death recommences>)

-1 hobgoblins
-1 orc warriors
-1 redoubled force (this isn't really necessary as once they see minions stir +orcs they ain't gonna try to go in where orcs live anyway)
-1 two or three tribes (two is enough)

+2 orc warband (they hit everywhere and can get nasty after other weak orcs, too)
+1 revealed to all watchers (more orcs)
+1 many sorrows befall (dark quarrels or conceal-NOT!)

Combine with hero resource that uses forewarned is forearmed to make big orcs played as 2nd aa in underdeeps uncancellable.

Bang with orcs, unexpected outpost the big guys, THEN Revealed to all...mwah, ha, ha.

haz play vs. thorin, beorn, oin and bofur=doors+minions stir+2 or 3 tribes of orcs + orc warriors (5s9-crushed by heroes)+ uruk lt. (3s14=not so easily crushed) + orc lt. (3s16=pile on the pain  ). Hmm, and with one left on the haz limit you can play Revealed to all or Many sorrows. With a bit of patience, don't be too worried about elf twins or thorin/dain...

BTW, you will need twilights on the resource side to protect the doors or you will use too much haz limit playing doors.

I have played similar haz where after the first turn, my opponent literally had no characters left.

I'd drop all of the redoubled forces. As Charles says nobody is going to go to a orc/troll aa site anyway once they see your strategy. Instead add:

Revealed to All Watchers
Mouth of Sauron
Many Sorrows Befall

Or add 2 Little Snufflers instead of the MSB and maybe a hobgoblin

Revealed to All Watchers is unique.

Edit: You're quite right, my bad.

I don't think anybody suggested adding more than one . . .
