[hazards] Shadow out of the Dark

Post by Old Tuk » Thu Feb 09, 2006 9:23 am

Hi,

heres is a suggestion for a nice dark-minion-undead-agent deck:

Shadow Out Of The Dark

creatures

3x chill douzer
3x ghosts
3x ghule
3x stirring bones
barrow-wight
Elerina (Agent)

permanent event

2x shadow out of the dark
3x doors of night
3x inner cunning
moon of death
Daelomin at home

long events

3x plague of wights
morgul night

short events

2x unexpected outpost
choking shadows
twilight

Sideboard

choking shadows
mouth of sauron
moon of death
morgul night
muster disperses
pale dream maker
endless whisper
many sorrows befall
icy touch

strategy

Inner Cunning gets your agent on your hand and you must play it with Inner Cunning as a permanent. When revealing, play Shadow out of the dark on him and have fun! (remember: Keep some creatures on your hand for that move!)
Choking Shadow makes the ruin to a shadow hold, so the agent can reveal if your opponent doesnt move to a shadow hold.
I like the Endless Whisper to tap the wise guy. If he is the only one he can not untap and not tell marvels anymore.

Disadvantage:

If the opponent cancels Inner Cunning with Marvels Told, you have to discard him and start all over again. But normally he needs his MTs for the  Plague of Wights.

What else?

I see only one twilight.  You will need two on the resource side if you hope to keep doors of night out.

There seems to be a massive overload of sSdD creatures.  If I came up against a haz like this I would split companies and head to Gondor where you can't touch easily.  Maybe leave off a ghoul and ghost and plug in some stuff to hit bBfF (like Firiel as an agent to lurk in Gondor, for example).  Try to fit in Revealed to All Watchers with some haz limit increasers.

This is the type of haz if you surprise you can really hammer.  :)

I think he means:

sSdD - Creatures keyable to Shadowland, Shadowhold, Dark-Domain, Darkhold (like most undead)

bBfF - Creatures keyable to Borderlands, Borderholds, Free-Domains, Free-Holds (like Durin's Folk, Sons of Kings etc...)

sSdD means shadowland, shadowhold, dark domain, dark hold

bBfF means borderland, borderhold, free domain, free hold

sorry for any confusion
