Eagles have a great reach, being able to fly great distances.
The Great Eagles are free and brave.
Lastly, the most hidden hint (IMHO). The free and brave refers to the last sentence of the national anthem of the USA, which is "O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave." (copied from wikipedia). The national symbol of the USA is the eagle.
