GCCG tournament sign-ups

Post by Wacho » Fri Mar 10, 2006 2:25 am

Ok.  Everyone who wants to play please reply in this forum or send me a private message.  The format of the tourney will be 2-deck general opponent.  Two variation from the standard tourney rules will be no time limit on the games and we will be using the house rule for Balrog players. (Character manipulation limited to 1, 2 mind characters).

The tourney structure will be standard Swiss.  I had thought of trying something slightly different and having the set time for the finals online, but decided against it.  Perhaps if the league picks up momentum we can try that sometime.

Everyone will need to register 2 decks.  The default deck will be versus heroes, and the alternate deck vs. minion.  (As usual your choice for FW)  DO NOT CHANGE these decks after the tourney starts.  We will periodically check the logs.  If we find anyone changing and reregistering we will disqualify them from the tournament.

Sign-ups will be open for one week and the tourney will start March 19 (a week from Sunday). It will run for four rounds of one week each. I.e. you play one game a week. You should work out when with your opponent yourself.

For those who have missed it in the last thread, the commands to register are:

/rd
/rd2

Basically you load your vshero deck, then type /rd to register it. Then you load your vsminion deck and type /rd2 to register it.

If you type /rd or /rd2 after that you'll replace your registered deck. As wacho said, don't do that after the tournament has started.

If somebody plays with a registered deck the system will at the start of the game say in green that the deck is registered and in it's original form.

No, no, I signed by PW ;)

By the way, this may seem obious, but we in Poland play tournaments different way. Few questions:
two deck game to 25 points?
two decks - they must be same alignment, but cards may totally differ?
which optional rules we use?

To 25 points & need to exhaust the deck once, then call council

Must be same alignment, cards may totally differ (for hazards they best differ, as what works good against hero might not work versus minion at all)

Optional rules : just that the Balrog - who may usually play characters up to 3 mind from sideboard rather than hand - may only do so with 1 or 2 mind characters.

Sideboard and Discard.
