I'll echo Bulabula here. I've gotten re-interested in MeCCG since a friend mentioned how he'd like to learn how to play, so I've wandered back here to meccg.net to get my brain wrapped around the game again and then tried to fire up gccg. It doesn't seem to be working, but I'm wondering if it's just me?

Hi, thanks for the response.
I tried to update everything and it failed repeatedly, so I reinstalled GCCG and METW.
Now when I try to connect I get the following...
____
Connecting to gccg.servebeer.com port 21930
Server closed connection.
ABNORMAL EXIT!
_____
Well, I thought that was a bit scary. I checked the gccg faq, tried to find my password, just in case and wasn't able to do so [edit: found it now, although read on...]. In what I guess was offline mode I typed, "/passwd" and it told me it had changed my password locally! (and on the server if I was connected, which I assume I wasn't) o_O
Sooo... not sure what that means, I sure wasn't trying to change the password.
I /quit and then restarted and got the same Server closed connection. response. I don't know if this means the server is rejecting my attempts to connect or if the server is actually down?
Anyway, not much success so far.
Do you have any additional advice?
Thanks again!

If you reinstalled, did you remember to back up your folder with your original password? If not, reinstalling gave you a new password and you must ask the server admin to help you. If you did back up the folder with your old password, simply place it where the new password is, and things should work.
And that is the limit of my GCCG knowledge.

iMAC
any ideas...??
I tried to run the GCCG on my iMAC and got this:
Running ./ccg_client metw.xml
dyld: Library not loaded: /sw/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib
Referenced from: /Users/<my user name>/morgul/./ccg_client
Reason: image not found
tools/launch_client: line 4: 1682 Trace/BPT trap $CCG_PATH/ccg_client $*
My-user-name-iMac:morgul <my user name>$
I changed the My User Name part...call me paranoid.
