[Fallen Pallando Resource] Between Dragons and Darkness

Post by Bandobras Took » Sat Aug 12, 2006 3:36 am

I'm not that great of a Fallen Pallando specialist, but here's a fun little one that hits the narrow strip of land between Dragon-Country and Mordor.

Starting Company:
Bad Company

Doeth (Durthak) w/Arcane School
Ugluk w/Shadow-Cloak
Nevido Smod w/Shadow Cloak

2 x Ready To His Will

Factions (all Minion versions):
Corsairs of Rhun

2 x Broad-Headed Spear
Necklace of Girion (Minion)
2 x Secret Book

Stage Resources:
Great Patron
Never Refuse
Pallando's Apprentice
Plotting Ruin
Pallando's Hood
Spells Born of Discord
Stave of Pallando
Truths of Doom
Wizard's Myrmidon

Other Resources:
2 x Poison of his Voice
2 x The Tormented Earth
2 x Riven Gate
2 x Spying out the Land
2 x Come By Night Upon Them

2 x Ill-favoured Fellow
2 x Sly Southerner
2 x Squint-eyed Brute
Prophet of Doom
Mischief in a Mean Way
Guarded Haven
3 x Half-orcs
3 x Greater Half-orcs
A Strident Spawn
A Merrier World
Shameful Deeds
2 x Govern the Storms
Legacy of Smiths
2 x Gifts as Given of Old
2 x Eyes of Mandos
Variags of Khand*

The basic idea is to go to the Horse-Plains, Come By Night Upon the Minion :B:, Rive their Gates, Play a Spear, a Faction, discard a Book, and play the other Faction.

The linchpin, is, of course, Doeth, who makes corruption checks as minion and is therefore an extremely brutal spellslinger when Never Refuse comes in.

When you know it's safe (Spying Out the Land), run up to the Lonely Mountain for the Necklace.  If you get it early enough, it'll help with the faction influencing.

Pallando will have to make a Risky Journey to the Horse Plains, but he'll be sideboarding the first few turns, anyway.  Ultimately, Mischief/Guarded/Strident Spawn one of the :B: and start pulling in Half-Orc character points and factions points through Strident Spawn and Pallando's Stave, respectively.  If you're feeling adventurous, you can get the two Khand factions, as well.

Stick in some extra Orcs to make sure your company stays overt; it won't do to have to visit the Hero versions of the sites. :)

You can also play Heart Grown Cold on yourself and hope to catch a FW opponent off-guard.
