Palantír of Osgiliath

Post by Eyelid » Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:59 pm

Hello again,

I'd just like to clarify something about this Palantír. The first part of the card reads:
Unique. Palantír. If the bearer's company is ever below 4 characters and the company moves, discard.
Can I play this Palantír on a single character and leave him or her in one place where that character can keep using the Palantír's effects? I'm aware that I will also need an Align Palantír card if I'm not using Saruman, but I just wanted to be sure I could play this Palantír on a company composed of fewer than 4 characters.

Thanks.

Yes. The Palantir only gets discarded if you move with a small group, so no problems if you stay.

Anyway, a palantir + Align Palantir means 4 or 5 corruption points. If the lone sage (which could be an easy target for Alone and Unadvised) is not Bilbo, you may consider Use Palantir. It's a short event instead of a perm, then it's a one-use card, and it yields no MPs too, but at least it doesn't burden your character with corruption.

Thanks, Bruno, I'll keep that in mind when I play with Palantíri!
