There are some great prints out.  Rob Alexander for instance has some fantastic prints on his website. The one thing I like about MECCG is artwork is that it can be relatively cheap.  Pieces can be picked up for as low as around $100.  Of course the artists with a strong reputation (D...

Middle Earth CCG Artwork

I just thought I would throw up a link if anyone was interested.  There is a website that deals with collecting fantasy and science fiction illustration artwork.  I have posted some of the artwork from my collection on the site.  If you want to see some of the original artwork that I ...

Original artwork wanted

I hope this is the appropriate forum for this post. I have begun to collect original artwork for the Middle Earth CCG.  I have contacted a variety of artists directly (see my post in this forum http://www.meccg.net/dforum/viewtopic.php?p=10162&highlight=#10162 for a list of artists that I have ...

I don't know if Jo Hartwig would be able to help.  Tolkien enterprises probably owns the copyright for the map as all the copyright went back to them when ICE lost the license.   Jo Hartwig probably retains the rights to make prints, show images on his website, sell the original artwork bu...

Right now there is ebay action with a buy it now of $89 for a lidless booster box and a lidless eye starter box (together).  That works out too $45 each.  I would say a lidless booster box alone would sell in the $50-$70 US range on ebay.

The 10th Anniversary!

As it has been pointed out before, this year represents the 10th anniversary of the MECCG.  In fact, if memory serves me correctly, the game was released in December 1995 (don't know the precise date).  I remember on the release date, buying a box of starter decks and a booster box.  ...

It is possible to sort by country, but I don't have that information personally.  You could go through the contact info on the websites and figure out where they live. I do know: Ted Nasmith: Canada Douglas Beekman:? Pascal Yung: France? Stephano Baldo: Italy Angelo Montanini: Italy - I used to...

Artist Information

I have compiled a list of websites of the artists that contributed illustrations to the MECCG.  This is not a complete list but represents the websites I have been able to track down.  If anybody has additional MECCG illustrator websites that I have missed please include it here. I am prov...

What about the Lord of the Rings TCG by Decipher? http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2603 Any opinions? I have played it a couple of times. It is a good game if you need a quick fix. The games are obviously much shorter than MECCG. I enjoyed the game but got bored with it. In addition, Decipher's ter...

I remember hearing when the limited METW english set was produced way back in 1995 that the print run was 40 million cards. I seem to remember people doing the math to figure out how many complete sets of METW could be assembled from this size of print run (I think about 10,000 complete sets could b...

I wonder if we could "watermark" the cards in some way so that they contain a small "logo" in the bottom corner to prevent someone from downloading an exact copy of the card. If the cards were simply for rules discussion/admiring art/etc, then it shouldn't matter if there is a small logo at the bott...

Scanned Cards Database

I was wondering if a database of the images of all the cards for the Middle Earth CCG exists. I think probably not. Would it be legal/ethical to create such a database that is accessible from a web browser. Wizards of the coast has a database like this (of course they are the producer of the product...

I am sorry to hear about Quinton Hoover. I have never had any dealings with him but he has an update on his website: http://members.aol.com/QHoover/whatsnew.html

It says that he is going to try and catch up on some card signing. So maybe you will see those cards again...

Good luck

I just checked the image for the Dwarven Ring of Thrar's Tribe. It is a really beauty. Audrey Corman really does some impressive pieces with her level of detail. I bet it looks spectacular framed.
