Yes, Open to the Summons can be used. However, only Thrall of the Voice allows you to play a character with 6 mind.

That card would usually require swapping for the minion site card, too...not many borderholds have items playable on their hero versions.

I think you're wrong, Zakath. "Open to the Summons" states that it has to be played on a minion company and afterwards a minion agent can be played with that company. So "OttS" is already in play and then the Agent is played, effectively reducing the mind to 5... Thrall of the Voice specifically st...

Open to the Summons wouldn't work. The character would still have 6 mind before he was brought into play, and a FW can't bring a character into play with 6 mind (except via Thrall of the Voice).

Mordor in Arms is triggered during the Resource player's turn. They can do whatever they want to in response. They could tap a character in response to the play of Mordor in Arms in order to use Marvels Told, for instance. Keep in mind that responding to the play of a card occurs before it resolves....

Smoke Rings, Longbottom Leaf, and Weigh All Things to a Nicety allow you to put cards straight into your deck. You can also choose to do so with your avatar. This can be essential: I frequently have things like Forewarned is Forearmed in the sideboard, in case my opponent is running Assassins and Sl...

A Stirring Bones played after a Chill Douser with both The Moon is Dead and Plague of Wights in play is an absolute monster.

8 strikes with 12 prowess if I calculate correctly. And that's really not that hard to pull off. Toss in a Pierced By Many Wounds and you've got Glor's number.

I'm not at all certain I'll be able to make Worlds. :(

Unless I can figure out a cheaper way to get there, I won't be able to attend.

I wish I'd been paying attention last year. Atlanta would have been a lot easier to get to.

I wouldn't discount sideboarding so easily. The rules that govern it aren't all that complicated, and it definitely can make a difference.

Yes, you can. You can keep FW stuff in your sideboard to cover that possibility. There are rules somewhere in the WH stuff that talk about it. I've never seen anyone actually do it though.

New spells, monsters, artifacts, etc. Plus the expansion quests are harder. New overlay tiles and rules to go with them. Lots of things. Some of it can be integrated right into the main game from the beginning. I always thought the beauty of the game was its simplicity. That and its difficulty. If t...

Ah, so it is. Of course that's the one rulebook I didn't check in real life, and the online one is missing the optional rules section... I was thinking about this, and wondering how the mechanic would work. Say you have an attack which has more than 2 strikes facing a 2 character company. At what po...

HeroQuest (inspired by Five Armies)

Anyone else know this game? It was produced by Games Workshop back around 1990-ish, and is still the most fun boardgame I have ever played, by a wide margin. I own the game plus all 6 of the expansion packs that were released for it, including both ultra-rare US expansions and both European expansio...
