Mine had some bad cuts too - mostly black edges showing up on the grey borders, sometimes quite badly.

Also note that Balrog cards have differently cut corners, which is a much bigger problem.

I've found that there is considerable variation in Japanese METD and MEDM cards.  A lot of them are excellent, but unfortunately a significant amount are all faded and really pretty awful. Regarding METW, I've only really seen Japanese and English so far, but the best of those is definitely Lim...

Finnish METW > All other METW  :D (I sent you a few Finnish cards, if you get a chance compare them to the English and JP versions side by side) Ah, great!  Thanks, Ted.  :D  Between you and Roberto I am getting to see samples of quite a few languages. Offtopic: That's true also...

Which language and which set has the best print quality?

Lately I've been wondering: which language has the best print quality for each set?  And which set has the best print quality overall? So far I have seen only English and Japanese sets, but I have a number of impressions: - The later English sets are better than the earlier ones. - For METW: (B...

Amazing!  It looks really hard, but it seems you've done a great job.  Alatar looks especially impressive, and Escape works really well with depth too.

So, do you have to paint the card edges black or what?  It all looks quite fiddly, but what a great idea!

Artists sounds like a nice way to sort.  But again, this is something I do in the computer using scans of my cards.  In fact I have an IMatch database with all the card images, to which I apply tags such as "Artist.Audrey Corman" and "Publications.Games.MECCG.1 The Wizards".  I can th...

Very nice idea, Eric.  :D I have done a similar thing using scans of my cards in the computer, although only for the Hobbit so far.  Basically, I put all the Hobbit cards in one directory and then sorted them into chronological order for the story.  So I have a truly "complete" illust...

Albums - how do you sort your cards?

I'm preparing to put all my cards into albums, hopefully later this week, and I'm trying to work out the best scheme I can for ordering the cards.  In doing so, it occurred to me that it might be interesting (and useful) to hear how other people have their albums sorted. So, for anyone who is i...

Talking of the starter set decks (um, well I guess it was 3 years ago but not too late to jump in, I think  :D )...  Does anyone have a list of the cards available in this set?  Also for the German "Bilbo" set.  I've searched but I couldn't find card lists for either.  If an...

Wow. That's pretty bad.  I have no idea what the legalities of a site such as Chris's Trade Centre are, but it's explicitly stated all over the site that the whole system works on trust - and threatening to sue seems to me to be a fairly large breach of trust. I would imagine that the notices o...

Well, so far having seen just English and Japanese, I have to say I like the Japanese printing.  The colours are generally much nicer. But the best I've seen so far is the Challenge Decks - despite the grey border, the colours are just great!  For a comparison, look at English Limited or U...

Yeah, looking through the Challenge Decks (which I just bought :) ) it seems there are quite a few like that. The Balrog Neeker-breekers Challenge Decks Fatty Bolger Black Arrow Deadly Dart The Arkenstone Are there any more? On a similar subject, I've been putting together a list of the number of un...

Thanks for the info, guys. Ted, I think the reason might be that the one that's not available is the one with the most famous Gandalf picture ever (John Howe's "Gandalf", featured on Stormcrow).  The other two also have excellent (++++++) art too, of course. So anyway, the binders fit 9-card pa...

John Howe artwork binders

I just ordered a couple of binders from Wim's store :D , and I'm wondering what they're like.  Can anyone fill me in?  I am very familiar with the artwork used, but what I'm wondering about is: - How many rings do they have? - Are they O-ring or D-ring? - Roughly how many pages can I expec...

Ted, the same thing almost happened to me years ago with a different card game.  Luckily I noticed the danger (just) before it happened, and since then I have been pretty careful.  I think you are right that a combination of D-ring binders and less pages per binder makes things safer, but ...
