As a special welcome for the newly arrived boards and users: I've just completed and installed the MeCCG symbols for the board. You can use them like any other smiley. Enjoy

I especially like but do elves have pointed ears?

Awesome! And yes, elves do have pointy ears (at least PJ thinks so) _________________ "You can't stop the signal." |

Right Nigel, as you demonstrated, we have some LotR themed emoticons too here now. E.O.N. made them. Looks like they'll be worked on further to get them as expressive as the "normal" smileys, so they can replace them completely.
BTW: if there are any (other) experts out here in this small scale graphics work, they are more then welcome to step up to the plate. Some of the finer details of how to make these things are still eluding us. I for one will still attempt to get some of those symbols a bit less fuzzy; I find some of them tiresome to the eye.
As for the pointy ears: Tolkien elves do not explicitly have pointy ears, but I think PJ found a good balance.. he had to do something to distinghuis elves from men, right? _________________ Gwaihir.net - The Middle-earth CCG store

Yeah, I think he did a good job with that. But I didn't wholly like that he made Hobbits with pointy ears as well. My 0.02 _________________ "You can't stop the signal." |

Wow, I never realized that Tolkien never said anything about elves and pointy ears! I think I've always imagined them with pointy ears. I mean, "elves" in all other stories have pointy ears, right?
Glad you like the LOTR emoticons, they'll be even better when Wim and I are done with them.

Eh eh ... an elf could reply simply: "Who cares about dwarven hair?"
and the war begins ... |

Yeah well, the elf could make sure it's not a short distance. (Since he could "sleep" while chasing the dwarf! )
