Halbfinale Einladungsliste
Turnierbedarf(Boosterdraft/ Sealed Deck) geben.
Die Kosten betragen US$ 15, zahlbar an mich
Danke,
Rat von Elrond
alternative Zahlungsmöglichkeit:
To those coming to the Amsterdam Word Series 2000, who for any reason don't feel like transferring their money to Brian in Canada. The Dutch Council of the Isles of the Dead that Live is offering you an alternative way to pay your $15,- fee; with Brian Wong's approval, of course. You can transfer EURO 16,50 or DFL (Dutch guilders) 36,37 per player to W. Heemskerk, account number 54.91.98.296, ABN-AMRO (= name of the bank), Apeldoorn (= city), The Netherlands. Make sure the payment description reads: 'Worlds*** All changes or clarifications since the last update are marked with a

Greetings to all fans of the Middle Earth Card Game,
A date and time has been set for the World Championships along with
tentative details on the events. All events played under the CoE rules
unless noted otherwise. The details are as follows:
Date: June 2, 3, 4 2000 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Venue:
Café De 2 Klaveren
De Clerqstraat 136
1052 NP Amsterdam
020-6189125
This is a private and well lit pub basement with room for 60. The venue is
free, but the pub expects us to buy our
food and drinks from them. They can serve lunch and simple meals for a
reduced price if we like. It also makes for a very convenient MEtDG.
Accomodations: Get in touch with your favorite Dutch player for
lodging. The first 10 to contact Arco den Boer (ace@cable.a2000.nl) will be
split up among his friends in
Amsterdam. If players want to stay in a hostel/hotel they should contact
Arco
as well. He will try to get you a good deal. The faster the better, because
hotels will definatly be booked in June due to the European Soccer
Championships. More local player options forthcoming.
Schedule:
Friday: (10am)
Opens: 2-deck general opponent. All players from all over the world not
already qualified to the semi final round welcome. Top 2-5 players (based
on how many invitees show up to semi-finals) qualify to semi-final round on
saturday.
***<side event>: 1-deck sealed deck (by popular request)
Saturday: (10am)
Semi-finals: 2-deck general opponent. See below for invite list. Top 4
players qualify for final round on Sunday.
<side event 1>: 1-deck booster draft (Middle Earth the Drinking Game
style)
<side event 2>: multi-player theme tournament. Groups of 3-4. Corruption
does not exist. Players' unique card(s) in play cannot stop their opponents
>from playing their own version of the unique card(s). All cards are legal
for this event Hazards must be
thematic as well. The idea is to complete the coolest theme/mission for
your hazards and your resources, not necessarily to stop your opponent from
completing their's. The winner will be based on the player with the most
amount of votes received by their fellow players as having the coolest deck.
<the event>: party on the town with the locals and all the drunk players
>from MEtDG.
Sunday: (11am)
***Finals: 2-deck general opponent round robin for top 4 players from
semi-finals. ie.(each player plays every other player once) The winner and
world champion will be the player with the most
tournament points.
***<side event 1>: 1-deck sealed deck
<side event 2>: player choice
The Semi-final invite list:
The top players from each country/council based on the results of their
national championships are automatically qualified for the semi-final round.
The number of spots each country/council receives is based on the size of
their player base.
Council of Lorien: 4
The Netherlands: 4 (host country)
Germany: 4
UK: 2
France: 2
Spain: 1
Sweden: 1
Finland: 1
***Belgium: 2
Italy: 1
Brazil: 1
Asia: 1
last year's world champion: 1 (Georg K. from Germany so Germany has 5
spots as a result)
Cost:
It is one of the main goals to have this tournament be low in cost and high
in fun for all participants. There most likely will not be a cost for the
venue but there will be a small fee for tournament supplies (booster draft &
sealed deck). Sorry but you'll have to pay for your own drinks for MEtDG.
As well, there are the costs of very cool prizes. One of which will be
a replica of The One Ring for the world champion. The cost will be $15 U.S.
payable to myself by mail order or whatever safe method of payment in U.S.
funds. The cost will be $20 U.S. at the door to encourage pre-registration
so that I don't have to buy all the supplies/prizes with my own money.
Those who don't participate in any booster draft/sealed tournaments will get
a slight rebate. Any prize donations will be kindly accepted.
***PREREGISTRATION DEADLINE: APRIL 30, 2000 Midnight PST (Pacific Standard
Time)
With 1.5 months left, I am still open to all reasonable suggestions to make
this
event even more fun. I hope you all can attend and share in the
festivities.
Thank you,
Brian "No Cheeze" Wong
Council of Elrond
